“Get Your Mind Right, Take Action, & Live Your Fit Lifestyle!” -Danielle Korb
As far back as I can remember I have been movin & shakin'! Growing up I was 1 of 6, there is a 10-4 year gap between myself and my 4 older brothers and sisters. My mom says, "Danielle - you would be in your high chair and you were very vocal that you wanted to be over where your older brothers and sisters were & doing what they were doing.....but you were so little I didn't know how you were going to keep up. You didn’t care you were determined to do it all.”My father always said when I was growing up, "Danielle......sit still!" I don't like to sit still, I like to move and shake!
Movin & shakin' to me is taking action and pushing yourself to the next level in everything that you do, in all aspects of life. I'm not saying that it's easy or that it doesn't come with many fears and obstacles because it does. I am saying that as I have worked through all the fears and obstacles in my own life to get to my goals it has helped me to create the Sweat Training program, which has effectively and efficiently helped to get the Sweat Training community in their best shape so that they can live their fit lifestyle.
Sports
When I was 8 years old, my mom put me in the gym because I was doing too much moving & shaking at home. I spent 5 years as a gymnast, training more and more each year. Starting from 6 to 9 to 12 to 25 hours per week, year round. The hours and hours of time devoted each week to learning ballet, choreography, tumbling, flexibility, flipping over/on apparti, competing, training camps, and total body strength & endurance training was the foundation for my career... I just didn't know it yet. From training in the gym, I also learned the positive high energy, team camaraderie, devotion, mental toughness, and the daily life balance it took to accomplish a goal.
Coaching
I started coaching gymnastics when I was 17. I worked my way up from tumblebees, to recreational, to pre-team, to team, to the lead coach of 60 athletes & 3 coaches by the time I was 23. I honed my coaching skills from my experience as a gymnast, from every interaction with every athlete I coached, every parent that needed to talk to me, and every coach in that gym. After 11 years in the sport as a coach/athlete, attaining my BS in Health Promotion, and getting certified as an ACSM Personal Trainer, I was ready for the next challenge.
Athlete/Sweat Training
In 2006 I became an athlete again, competing in figure competitions and starting my own company, Sweat Training. My 20's for me were about following my passion, working hard, and laying down the foundation for the rest of my life. I was going to work hard to bring a fit lifestyle to as many people as I could by doing what I loved. In doing so could create opportunities for myself, open more doors in all aspects of life to many new experiences, create unforgettable moments, and have full creative/lifestyle/family freedom in my day to day life.
I trained for 3 years as a figure athlete, with my trainer at that time, Rick. The goal of a figure athlete is to be lean, toned, symmetrical, and for me to compete at about 7% body fat. Rick was a trainer before there were trainers a he runs the only 2 figure/bikini/bodybuilding shows in Cincinnati. For 3 years I trained with him, making my body more lean/toned/symmetrical, honing my nutrition, getting my body fat measured every week, and competing in 2 figure shows. With all this I gained the knowledge & experience of how to take my body to peak level conditioning.
“To gain success is a great accomplishment & what I call “being hot” for the moment. To maintain success for the long term is excellence & true success.” -Jay-Z
I loved the sport and the knowledge of nutrition & fitness I gained from the sport, but for me the goal was to take what I learned from the sport and adapt into a fit daily lifestyle for myself and for the Sweat Training community.
It is definitely an accomplishment to follow a nutritional plan for 3 months and get your body into amazing shape for 1 day on stage & for a short period of time after! The goal for me was to take it to the next level and find the nutritional & workout plan to allow myself and my clients to create a diet and exercise lifestyle plan to help them get in their best shape and be able to maintain that success for the long term. I wanted to the program to be challenging, but manageable, efficient, effective, and a lifestyle. Inspire sweat... get in your best shape and live your fit lifestyle.
I took more action, seeking as much knowledge & experience as possible in this sport:
I attend the Olympia, the Super Bowl of the sport.
I participated in the 2005 Ms. Fitness Olympia's Fitness Camp.
I participated in the 2006 & 2007 Ms. Figure Olympia's Fitness Camp.
I attended the Arnold Expo/Competition & countless other shows.
Since 2006 when I wasn't competing, I was helping run the athletes backstage at The Monster Mash & Cincinnati Figure/Bikini/Bodybuilding Shows (and continue to help).
Sweat Training - Movin & Shakin'
The Sweat Training program... since 2006. In the midst of my competing as a figure athlete/seeking knowledge in the sport, I was building my own company, Sweat Training, and bringing all my knowledge/experience to my clients. My years of experience and knowledge as an athlete/coach/fitness expert/gym owner has allowed me to design and create an efficient and effective training program that has consistently produced results for the Sweat Training community & myself since 2006.
The Sweat Training program has been so successful that I was able to expand my business during the recession, outgrowing my first location and relocating to Downtown Cincinnati in 2010... creating the perfect pairing of brand, location, gym and clientele. For me, being able to create an effective training program in the gym has allowed me to continue to grow and challenge myself outside of the gym, and bring the Sweat Training program to the online community.
